Creation of murals at height
A character inhabits a cubicle, yet his solitude is relative.
What about the hundreds of thousands of other characters that dwell within him?
I refer to their interests, expectations, intentions, innate and acquired knowledge, fears, prejudices, motivations, strengths and weaknesses, limitations and questions — all of which have their own voice and occupy their own space. They accompany him; they dialogue with him.
You may now understand why I have insisted so much on seeking consensus.
This sequence of events, inscribed on the walls, unfolds in three parts: three site-specific interventions created by Paloma Márquez during March and April 2021, surrounding a common space — inhabitable, traversable.
A space where the characters repeat themselves, are the same, are multitudes.
On immaculate white backgrounds, resting on fine lines as ground, they pull threads, jump, unravel tangles — and above all: they persist in their purpose.

Extended Titles
1.
Desde el momento que se traduce
el tiempo del fin por el fin de los tiempos,
uno se encuentra al borde de una metamorfosis vertiginosa…
(Latour, 2017)
It is then,
when the temptation to abandon the time of finitude
becomes irreversible.
They watch us,
I watch them.
Despite the leap,
we are them,
they are us.
2.
Colectivamente,
elegimos aquello a lo que somos sensibles
y aquello a lo que hay que reaccionar rápidamente.
(Latour, 2017)
Thus,
the difference does not lie in the importance of the threat,
but in the inertia of habit.
3.
You may now understand
why I have insisted so much
on seeking consensus.
